You cannot go for Gold Certification unless you are Silver Certified. For the Silver certification, you need to pass a $15 online test, after which you will be given a confirmation number. You can use this number and your e-mail address to sign up for Gold Certification conferences. The increase in the number of certified Mystery Shoppers is definitely moving on the fast track, but do not think that it's your only ticket into the world of Mystery Shopping. Majority of the Mystery Shoppers are not certified and are still doing well. At the same time, a Silver or Gold certificate to your credit is like an added advantage and can earn you some brownie points from Mystery Shopping Companies.
